Why don’t Kiwis take their girlfriends to the cricket?

We’re going to be in the land of Hobbits around mid November, hoping to catch up a few expats and some original Kiwis too.

Many have told us just how beautiful New Zealand but no one has really mentioned what there is to do.

Neither of us are particularly huge Lord of the Rings fans but I do quite fancy staying here.

Whale watching in Kaikoura sounds like an awesome idea. The tours are run by the local Maori tribe and apparently we’ll get to see our fair share of sperm whales, orca and dusky dolphins.

There is also a world-famous train journey called the TranzAlpine which takes a scenic route out from Christchurch to Greymouth in the west.

Definitely a couple of options for seeing the sights in New Zealand, but what say you? Where would you recommend that we visit? Please let us know below.
